Assistant Instructors

The Candidate must be at least 16 years old and graded to at least 4th Kyu. They will have planned and run classes at the club while being assessed by their Instructor. The Candidate must cover all aspects such as Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality etc in order to be awarded Level 2. 


The Assistant Instructor's role within the club is:
* To assist the club Head Instructor in the smooth running of the club.
* To maintain high ethical standards in coaching and prepare all sessions in advance.
* To keep training records up to date. Evidence is recorded in the Martial Arts Instructor UK training manual.
* To keep DBS checks up to date (every 2 years).
* To keep First Aid up to date (every 3 years).
* To continue to study their chosen Martial Art and progress in grade at the set level.
* To continue to study the Martial Arts Instructor UK programme and eventually progress to Level 1.




    CHARLOTTE


    • Senior Kyu grade in FMA (Karate, Kickboxing, Ju-Jitsu combined)
    • Joined Cobra Hyde in 2015.
    • MAIUK level 2 (Assistant Instructor)
    • Assistant Instructor at Cobra Gorton.
    • Freelance Cadet Instructor for Life Leisure gyms.
    • Senior Kyu grade in Muay Thai style Kickboxing.


Cadet Leaders

At Cobra Hyde, we actively encourage our more experienced younger students to 'get into' coaching.     

The requirements of a Cadet Leader are that the Candidate must be at least 9 years old and be considered competent enough to carry out the role by their Instructor (Level 1). To gain this award they must actively assist in their club and have been assessed over a period of time.
The Cadet Leader's role within the club is:


* To assist all Level 2 and Level 1 Instructors in the smooth running of the club.
* To help supervise younger students and encourage them to learn by becoming role models.
* To keep training records up to date. Evidence is recorded in the Martial Arts Instructor UK training manual.
* To continue to study their chosen Martial Art and progress in grade at the set level.
* To continue to study the Martial Arts Instructor UK programme and eventually progress to Level 2.

  • 1st Dan Senior black belt in FMA (Karate, Kickboxing, Ju-Jitsu combined)
  • 2nd Junior black belt in FMA (Karate, Kickboxing, Ju-Jitsu combined)
  • Joined Cobra Hyde in 2016.
  • Student at Cobra Dukinfield from 2013.
  • MAIUK level 3 (Cadet Leader)
  • Senior Kyu grade in Muay Thai style Kickboxing.

    EMILY

Also please note that at Cobra Hyde we run Instructor enrichment courses twice a year. This is to ensure that the highest standards of teaching will always be maintained. The course is mandatory for all members of the coaching team and adviseable for anyone wishing to progress through the Instructor training programme. 

We also run a basic first aid course twice a year for the coaching team to ensure the highest level of care can be given should it be necessary.

BROOK

  • Special recognition award for over ten years continuous service to Cobra Hyde.


  • Currently studying Structural Engineering at Edinburgh University.
